A Fresh Start for Triber
Renault India has launched the 2025 Triber facelift, a budget-friendly MPV, with prices starting at Rs. 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Unveiled in July 2025, this seven-seater comes with a new look, updated cabin, and added safety features. Available in four variants – Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion – it ranges up to Rs. 9.16 lakh. The Triber remains a great choice for families wanting space and affordability, but it misses some features that could make it even better.
New Design and Colors
The Triber facelift sports a modern design with a sleek gloss-black grille, LED headlights with eyebrow DRLs, and a bold front bumper with fog lamps. The side profile has 15-inch stylized steel wheels, while the rear gets smoked LED taillights and a new Triber badge. Three new colors – Amber Terracotta, Zanskar Blue, and Shadow Grey – add flair. However, the lack of alloy wheels and a connecting LED strip for taillights makes it look less premium compared to rivals like Maruti Ertiga.
Updated Cabin and Features
Inside, the Triber 2025 has a black-and-beige cabin with a redesigned dashboard. It offers an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver display, and rear AC vents for second and third rows. Safety is improved with six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, and a rear parking camera. Yet, it misses ventilated seats and captain seats for the second row, which could have made long trips more comfortable.
Feature | Details |
---|---|
Touchscreen | 8-inch with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay |
Safety | 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, TPMS |
Wheels | 15-inch stylized steel wheels |
Colors | Amber Terracotta, Zanskar Blue, Shadow Grey |
Same Engine, No Turbo
The Triber facelift uses the same 1.0-litre petrol engine, producing 72 PS power and 96 Nm torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT (only on Emotion variant). A CNG option is available for fuel savings. Many expected a turbo-petrol engine like the one in Renault Kiger, but its absence leaves the Triber underpowered for a seven-seater, especially on highways.
Specification | Details |
---|---|
Engine | 1.0L NA Petrol |
Power | 72 PS @ 6250 rpm |
Torque | 96 Nm @ 3500 rpm |
Transmission | 5-speed MT / 5-speed AMT (Emotion only) |
What’s Missing in Triber 2025
Despite the upgrades, the Triber lacks some features common in its price range:
- Alloy wheels to enhance style.
- Ventilated seats for better comfort in hot weather.
- Captain seats for a more premium second-row experience.
- A larger touchscreen (10-inch) for a modern cabin feel.
- Turbo-petrol engine for better performance.
These gaps make the Triber less competitive against rivals like Kia Carens and Maruti XL6, which offer more premium features.
A Budget MPV with Room to Grow
The Renault Triber 2025 is a practical and affordable choice for families, with its spacious three-row seating, updated design, and strong safety features. Its low starting price and flexible cabin (up to 625 litres of boot space with third row removed) are big pluses. However, missing features like alloy wheels, a turbo engine, and captain seats hold it back. Buyers can book the Triber at Renault showrooms or online, but those wanting a fully loaded MPV might look at competitors.
